Ulster Strong Launches Latest ‘What’s The Plan’ Get-to-Know the Candidates Public Awareness Initiative.
Ulster County and Town Candidates in General Election Give Views on Key Local Issues, in Their Own Words
Ulster Strong launched its latest get-to-know local candidates awareness initiative, called ‘What’s The Plan’ for this year’s general election. Unedited responses to a questionnaire were sent to county and town candidates throughout Ulster County, and made available online to the public. The questionnaire asked candidate’s opinions on affordable housing, job creation, lithium battery sites, renewable energy, a potential state takeover of Central Hudson, economic development, and the environment. It was submitted to over a hundred local candidates running for policy-making positions in competitive races.
Over the next several weeks, a paid public service campaign, in local news sites, print, social media, and emails, will promote awareness of the website and candidate’s views.
“Ulster Strong’s ‘What’s the Plan’ project is one of our most successful initiatives since our organization’s founding in 2021” says Tony Marmo, President of Ulster Strong. “It gives us a chance to ask important questions of candidates about economic opportunity, development and sustainability, and share all their responses in one location for voters to access in order to make more informed decisions” says Marmo.
The promotional phase of the initiative runs through until Election Day, November 4. Early voting begins October 25th. To view the list of candidates and their responses to the survey, visit: www.ulsterelections2025.com
